cingular schmingular
Starting January 15, Cingular will now be known as AT&T.
3 years ago at&t wireless got bought out by cingular .. but last year SBC communications, the parent company of Cingular finalized the acquisition of AT&T, Inc. the company. The end of this year SBC also bought Bell South, who owns 40% of Cingular.
The president of SBC turns out to be a AT&T fan and he decided to rename his company to AT&T. As a direct consequence, Cingular will now be named as the company who is formerly known as Cingular who is formerly known as AT&T Wireless who is now officially called as the "Wireless Service from AT&T".
Whaaaaa?!?!? Thats what Cingular gets for picking on AT&T Wireless.
And oh yeah, whatever they spent to rename AT&T to Cingular and now back to AT&T can probably pay off debts of various 3rd world countries.
messed up.

They should just change the name to a symbol and then everyone could refer to them as "the company formerly known as AT&T."
Ha ha ha. then get Prince as their spokesperson.
