  • Dinner, Fishes, and Non-absorbent table cloths

We ate at Red Lobster last night to celebrate the birth of Isabel
Ababa-Santos. Emma was so cute because she was in such awe of the fish
tank. There were two fairly sized goldfish that were “making out” but I
think they were trying to resolve a territorial dispute.

Emma just won’t stop looking at the fish. I lifted her up so she can
see the fish at eyelevel. Everytime she would try and touch the fish
she would laugh with so much glee that she caught a lot of attention
from the nearby customers. They laughed everytime she would.

And then the funniest thing happened. She pooped. Turns out, we
forgot to bring diapers. Guess what? Marchesa managed to McGyver one of
the table cloth napkins into a diaper. Emma was satisfied with it so we
finished our dinner and headed home. By the time we were home, Emma’s
pants were wet! Poor girl, she’s been peeing and it went through the
    table napkin/diaper.

I wonder if Red Lobster will be missing that napkin…

  • Guns Galore

In a recent article by the New York Times, Bull’s-Eyes of Texas: Getting a Gun License I found out that you don’t need a license to carry a concealed weapon in 2 states, Vermont and Alaska. I can see this conversation happening in the First Bank of Vermont …

Robber: Put your hands up, I have a gun (waves a glock 9mm)
Teller: you call that a Gun? This is a Gun (brandishes a M8 tactical assault weapon)
Teller: Say hello to my little friends …

    The End

  • Of Birthdays & Most Days

Its such a joyous feeling knowing that Emma is now one year old. A couple of weeks back, Marchesa and and I celebrated our 2nd year anniversary. Through those times God has literally showered us with blessings.

The verse that jumps right out of my head is Psalms 121. “I lift up my eyes to the mountains. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord. The maker of heaven and earth …”

Reading through the verses gives me great confidence that through thick or thin I worship a God who is there no matter what. Not a vending machine god in which a lot of us remember only when we need something. He is the God who seeks a relationship with us.

I am happy to see the showers of blessings through Marchesa, Emma, my in-laws & friends. Yet I am sad that my family is not here for this saturday(except for Bernard). I guess that’s life and its quirks.

  • Lazy Monday

It’s been 4 hrs here at Lai’s Beauty shop in downtown Philly and my wife still looks the same … Beautiful!

Well, she cut her hair short and she is now sporting a bob. After 4 hrs of sitting down I think I’m ready for my bubble tea.

SJBCI is having an early picnic tomorrow. More food. Goodbye diet and exercise.

  • Happy Birthday Emma

Today is Emma’s birthday. A little girl at Javees wedding gave her a carnation and she instinctively smelled it. I was afraid that she would stick it in her mouth but she just smelled it.

We are eating dinner and Emma got hold of a spoon and she started to feed herself. That’s my little miss independent. Now if she can just wipe her own … Oh well, you win some you lose some. Love you anak.
